Woking Counselling Support Karen Mackey

About Me:

I have always been committed and passionate about my work which began as a Volunteer Counsellor for people with addictions, their families and close friends at Catalyst in Guildford. Work expanded to include Counselling adults with a range of wellbeing problems whilst also Counselling young people at the YMCA and although I now work with adults only, my experience with younger people has been useful and rewarding. I now volunteer as a Counsellor at RASASC (Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre), in Guildford where I have experience and training of working with trauma. In my private practice I counsel individuals and couples in relationships of many kinds. Training is always ongoing and I select what I feel will be most helpful in work with clients; I am currently studying for an MSc in psychology which is informing how I practice and giving me new perspectives.

Freedom and choice are very important to me personally and I want my Counselling to reflect these strongly held values through flexibility, openness and respect for all clients.
